Mercury Marine continues the staged release of their new OptiMax product line: this time the big 3.0 V-6 models in 200hp and 225hp configurations. Possessing a smooth and smokeless performance, as well as an average 40% better fuel economy, these new motors have less impact on the environment, run better and cost less money to use. Designed from the ground up, these motors feature a direct injection system, enabling a precisely metered amount of fuel and air to be injected directly into cylinder head - unlike many other brands which simply have bolted a system onto an existing motor. In addition, these OptiMax motors have an excellent power to weight ratio, the big power and torque delivered by Mercury's large capacity V-6 cylinder block, displacing a massive 3 litres to provide superior top end speed and acceleration.
