OuchWhile working on the Leigh wharf today, I got talking to one of the local commercial fishos, he had a  sizeable ally commercial boat with a 4 stroke Honda on the back, I said, big motor, he said biggest they make! I said hows it goin, he said, third one???? Turns out the first V8 Honda, did 200 hours before problems necessitated replacement under warranty, second one did 450 hours before it necessitated replacement under warranty, third one, the one he now has, has apparently undergone some serious modifications in the size of the oilways, big end and crankshaft bearing oilways etc. Any one else having problems with these?
The guy reckoned Honda have been great, but he's out of work for the two weeks it takes to get a new motor!!!OuchOuchOuch
It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing, by people who can't fish.

That sounds a lot like the F350 v8 Yamaha and the problems it has been having. I believe that the new 4.2 v6 Yamaha has also had issues with oil supply or similar to the thrust bearings and that some improvements have been required to that as well after several grenaded at a young age. The largest Honda I believe is the BF250 which is a V6 and has so far been pretty bullet proof by comparison.

Sounds like whoever is making them has a good warranty program.
The Hondas I have been around have impressed me with there hole shot power and there quietness.
