Those in the area who complain are probably the same ones who pretty much enjoy free concerts year round from the comfort of their balconies.

Keep speedway! It's as much part of Auckland as rednecks are to Texas.

its the same as those people who buy a house next to a main highway and then complain about the noise of the trucks, they didnt have to buy the house there but they did. grow up and get hard. dont like it? move. petition signed by me and my missus.

These I take it are the same people who b***h about the lions and tigers at the zoo as well, hell the DI**Heads knew they were there when they bought  a house there.....KEEP THE SPEEDWAY..

thanks for this Steve ... have passed it on to my mates ... i live on Chinamans Hill just up from the speedway ,my yuppy neighbours are among those who complain - these are people who have only just moved into the area , you can barely hear the midgets at all its certainly no big hassle , can hear the concerts ( ac/dc was great ) and as lethal said the zoo is a hell of a lot noisier ... Lions go all night on a full moon .

Problem is , the people whinging are very self interested and educated and have the nous to know the system and how to get their voice heard , unfortunately they usually get their way .

The next on the hit list is that they want Richmond League kicked out of Grey Lynn park , as an ex league player im gutted .... Richmond League club has been there since 1911 when the original club members drained the swamp that was there and created the park by hand  , the old buggars will be turning in their graves ( many of them died in the first war ) all this because these newbies dont like big smelly league players making noise and churning up the park .

Tis sad that such a minority get such a big voice , i really hope this petition goes well .
