I would go for something like this:

Hello all,

Have only fished on ocean trips trawling a line.

I live on my sailboat on a mooring in Auckland where people come out to fish everyday within 10-20 meters of me and I see them catching fish everyday.

I want to fish from my boat at the mooring.

1. What kind of rod/reel would you suggest? looking for low cost and not looking to catch any monster fish will be used off the back of the boat only. Don't want to get something that is bad and breaks / fish swimming away with a hook in it's mouth forever

Any help appreciated.
