Yeah I have just been to ICAST and seen a demo of the Blackwater hollow core. The guy was splicing his leader in to the braid it was very impressive, there was no knot at all in his rig. He was also using it as a sleeve to splice normal braid to leader which was also bloody impressive.

I can get some in if there is a demand for it....

I've used cortland 80lb braid a bit (mostly for old style 'Puka drops) and never had a problem. I don't use it now just because the Jigman and Varivas braids I've also got are that much thinner for the same nominal breaking strain and easier to use with colour bands.
Has anyone tried the Blackwater spectra hollow core  16 strand braid from the USA? It aint cheap but hollow core offers some nice advantages for leader connection.Question

im sorry but im going to have to agree that for me the cortland braid was rubbish!(i do acknowledge others have had no trouble with it though)
Jigging for kingis on top end gear ,fish up to 15 kg were ok but anything bigger the braid snapped at random places ...sure i had alot of hurt on them to keep them off the reef but on 37kg braid you should be able to do that
im not talking a once off it happened consistantly over a 6 month period...i know i should have replaced it just kept hoping it was a fluke
Iswitched to coloured jigmaster braid from japan that a friend was using  and its great i have not looked back ...you do get what you pay for however as its not as cheap as the cortland but then neither are jigs lost at 40 bucks a pop!
