Money in a boat seems a lot more secure than funds in a finance company at present. I hope it all works out for you!

With a whole lot of juggling we are hanging in by the skin of our teeth at the moment.
The toy department looks pretty empty  and our retirement plan is kaput, but if our damage control works and we don't get any more nasty surprises, we may just be able to keep "Reel Life".
 I won't be able to afford to run her much, but I'm sure that there will be plenty of  people who could share the costs.
It's still touch and go but we are trying to keep positive and just hope that the glimmer of light down the tunnel isn't another bl%*dy train.

Trouble is CaptnPhil due to recession, people know most sellers are letting go of their toy's (and in your case pride and joy) because they may have to rather than because they want to. Same goes for luxury cars and coastal property etc..... I've got an 07 735 Excess with 250 4/stoke Yamaha and she's immaculate.... maybe not as rugged or manly boat as yours, but top of the range Buccaneer all the same. In drystack, so no trailer. I looked to offload on TradeMe a few months back. It's a $130k to build new all day long but closest offer was $80k, so said stick it where the sun don't shine....Angry  The boat will still be worth $80k in 4 - 5 years time..!! Slackline priced a new 7m White Pointer late last year and was quoted 135k and that was just a basic package.

Sell 8-10 shares in it.......people do this all the time with planes and helicopters, things that they want to use but not all of the time, even doing it with holiday homes.

Yeah she sounds like she understands your pain... have you thought about selling a half share or something like that? Thanks for the input guys. Yes its gut wrenching to have to sell the boat, I have never been without a boat for 33 years, so it's a big deal for me.
I guess a new version of what I have would cost around 120k so 90% may be a bit high, but she's got all the good gear so maybe 85k ish is where I should pitch it.
How would that stack up to other similar boats for that money?

We are seeing a huge glut of boats in the Australian market at present and guys just can't seem to get rid of them.
 
Hardtop White Pointer is a good boat though, so hope it doesn't hang around too long.
 
I reckon 90% of what you got it for might be a tad ambitious.
 
Studio1 makes a lot of sense in his post - supply and demand is all it boils down to at the end of the day.
