Are we talkin as the crow flys or what?
Was checking out some crystal clear water today with a nice looking weedline all in plain sight of the big one. Not to far in a direct line but bit of a drive.
Might head up for a looksy tomorrow.

My pick would be Rangi - that lagoon area just inside the light - berley up. Wait for a few days of southwest and incoming tide? Wouldnt an 8-10lb'r from off bayswater be pretty hard to beat?
 
Get plenty of fish that size in that area over the summer - shouldnt be too hard to spear one around there would it?
