As mentioned previously, the handle is much too short and the reel is a bit big and slow.  It will take a wallet-busting amount of 50lb braid so underfill the reel first.  Don't judge Mechanical Jigging from the experience you get from this reel.  By all means use what you have at first and after the bug bites, you'll be infected for sure making it easier to justify the proper upgrade Big%20smile

Go for braid. 50lb on the tld should be fine. Crank arm is really short on the tld's, speed is OK though. You will get a bit sick of it after a while but will be sweet to get you started. Just go give it a crack, if it breaks replace it with something else. Regardless of what people say you can MJ with anything.
