In my opinion there's only one choice - Cape Karikari. Stay at either the Whatuwhiwhi Top 10 Holiday Park (Harris and Janette are totally kayak fishing friendly) or the DOC camp at Matai Bay itself. The plan is to go on a camping trip somewhere on the east coast north of auckland.

And thats where the ideas run dry... Prerequisites are needs to be very fishy, within paddling distance of campsite.
 
Target species Snapper, Kingfish
 
Any hints and or tips would be appreciated
