    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="https://www.fishing.net.nz/forum/member_profile.asp?PF=49027">Blue Asparagus</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 740<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 28 Nov 2009 at 1:42pm<br /><br />guys, personally ok, <br>you buy what you can afford, you buy what your confident in and you buy what is reliable, your the only one who knows what reel the fish is being caught with, the fish dont, over the years there have been faults in all reels the biggest problem in any reel is water getting into the bits and pieces and then the drag system.<br><br>if you want a bullet proof reel then dont look past a Penn 9/0, but hang on thats not what the Joneses use, who gives a rats its what suits your needs sure it aint gold but does the color of a amns skin make him any better, the same goes for reels.<br><br>Take a Penn apart, far more robust than a Shimano bigger bearings etc where as shimano are very small.<br>but who cares they both hold line and get the job done, who was that singer that wrote and sung that song.....that dont impress me much....<br>its like Ford and Holden, lets face it they are both as good as each other, but it comes down to the individual, dont be swayed by Joe Bloggs catches marlin and he just uses Shimano so we got to get them, buy what you can afford, or it may mean waiting till you can afford them I love Finors, I just cant afford them so I settled with Shimano cause I wanted my gear now not later, now to be fair I sure have not regreted it, but thats just me<br>]]>

I personally have have a favourite set up, which is which ever rod or reel I have most recently bought..... lol]]>
