Got mine today.

Only had time for a few hurried casts after work with it so it was a quick fitting of guides and strap on a akios shuttle tournament.

1st cast was a semi gentle pendulum to see how it loaded up and how quick the action was.
Loaded up fine and unloaded F ing fast to send the lead out to the left and around 180m.

Adjusted the drop length a bit and turned into the cast a bit slower next time . Lead went down the line and dropped at @200m .Had time for just one more cast as light was going and there was a few dog walkers starting show up.Got hold of this a bit better @210M .

The rod is beating me up in the cast as its way faster then what I am used to but once I can get the timing and feel of the rod sorted the leads should really fly.

The first two would well suit beaches here and get people fishing with freespools.  My pair of Tournament Match rods are regularly first out of my rod bag.

I found out last night that George Bonis used the A.F.A.W Tournament Mk1 14 footer for his world championship cast of 254 metres in the 175 gram.

It does seem to prove that A.F.A.W are now making rods that match it with Zziplex and Century for the heavy weights. I'm not saying they are better or worse, but having only known Zzipies and Centuries it is nice to know there is a viable third choice.

I'm not sure how George's style and that particular 14 foot rod will see him go with the two lighter weights, but it was a huge throw under the conditions for the big weight.

He also came in 4th for the 150 with the same rod with a cast of 251 metres.

All these rods come with reducers which is a bonus if you want to fish with them using low mount reels- 
These rods are available with guides to suit Fixed spool or free spool reels.

I would hate to see some of of the guys in lycra
