agree, i had the same thing happen. replaced the pins with flat plate welded pieces that are way stronger.

Word of Warning....  If you are going to drop bent Butt style drop in riggers into your Rocket launchers then make sure that either the pins in the RL bases are extra strengthned or put a forstay onto the Outriggers and tie forward. There is an incredible amount of force taken at the base level if you dont and you will pop the welded pins no problems at all .... as I experienced the hardway  !  ! !! lol.

It depends on where they are mounted, ie riggers mounted on the sides would need to be longer than if mounted on the roof.

Riggers mounted further forward longer than those mounted further back. The thing about riggers you can run the halyards from the tip to the base, but not above the tip. :)

If the order of 'pivot' points ie rod tips if you are trolling off the rod tip, or rigger tips if the line is coming off the riggers should be the same as the order of the lures are spread out behind the boat. If you can ahieve that no lures tangle and you can do very tight U turns without tangling. so from reading this, I could get a basic outrigger set up by dropping in some bent butt outriggers to my outer rocket launchers? Or would I be better getting some side rigging boom poles? I basically want to widen the spread a bit having trolled end of last summer with no riggers, sometimes 4 rods for albies, I'm surprised I didn't get tangles. 

I'm keen to have a go at something bigger so had been thinking about 'riggers - but want to spend bare minimum...and have the least fussy set up possible...any thoughts on how much it would cost to set myself up? I've got a 5.5 with a hardtop with rocket launchers on it.
