Have been thinking a opportunity to get more boats well kitted out could be missed with no motor boats  during LD level3
CG , harbour masters and police will know when ramps are busy, at what times , tides etc.
If LD L3 allowed only boats over a certain size that had approved life jackets , VHF, maybe EPIRB,  and maybe a couple other min requirements (over and above bubble)...

And smaller boats with similar requirements , life jackets , sealed cell phone thats charged up, and know the emergency numbers.

Maybe include kayaks that are fishing.. no all kayaks...

His point is, that if under under L 3 , we were allowed out, if our boats and safety equipment were up to a certain level, we would be allowed out...and the result would be better equipped, safer boats.

I think policing it would be problematic, the time needed, the people, then who pays. .next thing a licence and a boat WOF.... where does it end?

I just hope people have used this time sensibly, and checked over their boats and gear.

After re Galvin the hubs, one disc is not running true, and slaps the pad making an irritating noise... next week job, I'm working on Thursday and can put it in the lathe.

Sounds a bit entitled, only people in big boats with heaps of money to get all the latest safety gear can go.

So what you are saying is  if cant afford a life jacket or basic safety stuff, be it a small boat or old boat then its ok to head out?

In my books If dont have the right gear you are playing hero, and its the heros that have to deal with your foolishness...

 Clutch I think you missed my point.. it was not about if we should etc bitch  bitch complain and should be able to go...

It was about a possibility, a idea, that IF boats could go, it would be specified they must have the safey equipment.. be well equipped .. Only some local regional councils have such rules ...
 There is legit compelling  reasons boats can go and some reasons why not.. just if there was a change of policy rules it would be an opportunity to build on safely issues, equipment.
