Daiwa sealine SL30SH (&SL50SH) vs Avet MXJ6.3.1 (or the like). The Avet seems slightly more expensive although its all relative I guess. But in terms of features and bang for buck what would come out best over all or what would be your preferance ? Very curious.........

Both great reels mate, have a play with both to see how they balance on the rod. Neither will dissapoint.

I have diawa 30 and a 20+ a 40 for thsat matter and reckon they are pretty good. i give mine a lot of abuse with fishing off the yak and rock fishing, they have all held up well. if I can get a year oout of a reel with out it falling to bits I am happy and these wee reels have made me happy. haven't tried an avet but wonder what parts would be like to get

got the 50 i like it smooth drag, robust , cant compare it to the avet , but own a penn 555 which is a clunker compared to the daiwa.

top high speed jigging reel, also used it for reds casts well.

No sweat really for parts for the avets mate, they get sent from either singapore or the states but no dramas, I've had good prompt service, even free (small) parts for something that was my fault.

Yup looks to be a great reel is there much between the SL30SH and the SL50SH appart from line capacity?

I have SL50sh used once, mint cond, 50#spiderwire.  $200,

Also a Torium 30, surplus to requirements and looking for a home. $250

go with either a daiwa or a shimano torrium both great products. with the daiwa SL30 now $199 in the shops.they are great buying.

S#$T that is good buying still $270ish and plus down here I will have to go shopping up in Auck's when I come up. Who is selling them for that price Cod? (I was on a side note thinking of a Torrium 30 with 27kg braid for deep water jigging good price bang for buck).

Thanks Billfish- but right at the moment if i bought another reel/rod I would be looking for a new home to put it in the wife would have my gutts lol. But I have permission in Nov/December just before the Coromandel trip to do some shopping ....gotta love em

Wgt Moochers

Definately rate the SL 30, this reel gets the most use from my collection. outperforms by TLD 5 & Grandwave 20. Mint reel, & value for coin cannot beat it!!! I find has that little more line capacity, & makes from fast retrieve when the bite is hot!!!   Bullet proof also  Get into It!!!

I am angling towards it very very strongly esp niw that it seems the price has dropped to the $200 mark apparently, great value for money.
