Looks like Boxing Day in Whangarei (but who the f*** knows?!). Boxing day will at least be an easier sell to the Mrs than Christmas day!

I got back to the beach at mid day today - flat sea, easy launch. Started loading the boat up - wind and rain ripped thru. Packed it all away . Again. 20 Knts tomorrow, Sunday looking OK (maybe) then 30 knts next day. Yes - we fish when we can. Add in a beach launch and the numbers get quite small. meantime I have seen 2 trawlers go by.

I agree about the whole windy weather, resorting to some lake fishing to try feel better.

I'm going to Taranaki for the first time on Xmas. Weather looking good till the 28th maybe. Always admired that bit of NZ on the map. Beautiful. Nuts that I've gone and got old but I've never been there yet. Got a buddy down there with a boat so leaving mine behind. Any tips hugely appreciated. Taking all the rods, board and spear. Can't wait.

The weather is wot is is, moaning about it changes nothing. Be grateful  when your out there next time in nice conditions! We are so lucky in this country to have an amazing fishery for everyone to enjoy. Sanchez your making a great choice coming to the NakiWink, and looking ahead on Swellmap a few nice fishing days like you say. Don't know where your fishing but if you go north can give you a few tips on where the fish are as I will be on water as well. PM me. Beer
