Can someone explain what the point of these posts are by presumably automated bots or similar?
e.g. old mate commenting as below on a thread last used in 2017; or the one about a talapia recipe in the cooking thread? 
I've seen a few in recent months - typically slightly bogus questions from a member who joined that same day - but never understood the purpose. 
Are they trying to gain access to unwary systems and mine data or try to get sensitive personal info they can then use somehow? if someone then replies, does it cause a problem for Grunta and co?

A lot of them get cleaned as we see them Lester.
Most don't last long.
Why they try, I don't know.
