Good day,

Can one still fish the waikato river mouth, thinking of heading there this weekend. Is it easy to access and from where do I access it. Does one have to have a  4x4 or is a 4x2 okay?

Cheers

Its been fishing well by all accounts, although there might be a few logs as the water has been high after record rainfall over the past 6 weeks. Suggest you wait another week or so.
Why choose either diving or fishing when you can do both. Besides crayfish tail is very good bait!!

Kingfish@98, You can easily walk to it.
Often used to see people fishing right next to the road a bit further up from the mouth. A sort of dangerous fishing spot from a traffic perspective - don't know if there's good water there or it's just easy access. Might be a bit of both.
