I finally got out to fish this morning at Mission bay Sailors club And caught a snapper.
 
It wasn;t big but  still its good eating size.

I am actually surprised to see snapper that close. Are they still there??????
 
We were out at kaipara on gurnard grabbing mission. One kg salted bonito is now $17Shocked Dead
Caught couple on outgoing. Was not as good as it used to be.

Once you factor in the cost of the bait + tackle + fuel + beer etc you'd have to be catching gold plated snapper just to break even!!
