You couldnt ask for a calmer sea state than we had today. Launched at Gentlemens' hours (due to low tide at 8am) and headed out to target some gurnard in the Auckland East Coast bays. Fishing buddy for the day was Keith C, who made the trip up from the "Naki to sample his old stomping grounds. Day looked like this:
Shortly after we started fishing a few porpoises showed up (no pic) and looked to be feeding nearby so we shifted a bit, put the burley down, and deployed various rigs to entice whatever might be around:
Well, guess what started showing up?:
Several hours later we had 11 gurnard in the bin as well as a few snapper:
