Hi,

Can anybody recommend a company for helifishing trips to Gt Barrier?

Have got Heliflight, but also need a couple more for pricing up.

Cheers

That's for a six hour trip, Bas.

It's not for me, but I wouldn't mind giving it a go... it's been on the 'to do' list for a few years now.

That's alright if some one else is paying or you've just win lotto, but that blimmin steep. You could go on a 3 day charter for less I think.

Does seem steep, but what a buzz taking a helicopter to a remote ledge.
What about Heliops, I've seem them on the ITM fishing show, I think they operate out of Kerikeri, so Cavalli's,  Far North, West Coast is all game on!!

You sure can. A few years back we did a couple of landbased trips through Damo and The Charter Connection. We took the boat across from Gulf Harbour and using the tender we loaded up group by group and fished a few spots over a couple of days. One of the guys caught a 21 pounder!

I was gifted a trip to Barrier in August with helifishig, and can only go when they have a chopper full. It's nearly November now and I still haven't been out. Not a good look from this lad.

I've been getting over to barrier quite a few times in the last 18 months but mostly not for landbased as my cuz has a stabi which we take out. Really keen to do some landbased over there though and there are some incredible looking spots which must get v little pressure. Just need to get a doc's note for a few cheeky days off once the weather settles down!! LOL

I have done  a few trips out Helifishing. I would go with Sky Works and ask for Glenn to be your pilot. He used to work for Helitranz and really knows the place. Good bloke as well
