| Just thinking of putting some new line for jigging and livebaiting. What is best and breakage strain and will the tld 25 have enough winding speed? Any thoughts appreciated |

Go for braid. 50lb on the tld should be fine. Crank arm is really short on the tld's, speed is OK though. You will get a bit sick of it after a while but will be sweet to get you started. Just go give it a crack, if it breaks replace it with something else. Regardless of what people say you can MJ with anything. Start simple and add complexity.

| tld 25's are an iconic reel, and have the potential to catch just about anything....Benk has given you the good oil.....50lb braid topshot is the go....you won't get serious drag out of that reel......but you don't always need heavy drag to catch big fish.........try and get your hands on a dedicated jigging outfit.......and start to feel the.......f e v e r! |

As mentioned previously, the handle is much too short and the reel is a bit big and slow. It will take a wallet-busting amount of 50lb braid so underfill the reel first. Don't judge Mechanical Jigging from the experience you get from this reel. By all means use what you have at first and after the bug bites, you'll be infected for sure making it easier to justify the proper upgrade  ------------- give it death! |
