Hey guys.
Anyone on here doing the Kings of the Coromandel comp this month?
Not sure if you have noticed but the entry fee is now up to $150 each.
The heaviest kingi prize (under 100lb) has been downgraded to a Kia car.
Asked Tim for an updated prize list and unfortunately he was a little vague.
Would like to do it, but unsure if prizes stack up to costs and entry fee.
Anyone else done the sums?

I saw some disgruntlement about this in another post, something about a queensofthecoromandel website or something and it being potentially cancelled... or did that get sorted

Yeah disregard that website - apparantly was set up by an ex director of the company that runss the comp.

The prizes wont stack up to the entry costs in my view but hey we shouldnt just be doing comps for the prizes.

I for one am not doing it this year. Have more fun just going down there with a bunch of mates to fish without every other man and his dog trying to fish there as well. And yeah $150 for me is a bit steep for what you get in return.

I talked to Tim last week and he said that ticket sales were going well and past break even point and some good prizes were up for grabs. Again, he was a bit vague on this but no real suprise based on prior years.

Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish caught will we realise we can't eat money.
