Hi
 
I am just enquiring if am in the right RPM rannge on my 495 Frewza with an F60
 
At WOT with one person 5400rpm  61kph fresh water
At WOT with four big people 5000rpm 54kph fresh water
 
At 4400rpm 44kph with four people
 
Are these figues exceptable ?

Answer is - not really. You should be aiming for 5500 - 6000 at WOT with a normal load. Owners manual says you should reach those figures with max load, but if you only occasionally run with a heavy load I would personally be comfortable with hitting these numbers with my 'normal' load.

Based on your figures above, and assuming that you have got them with the boat correctly trimmed, you are running several more inches of prop pitch than you should. If you regularly take 4 people I would try dropping the prop pitch by 3 inches and retest your WOT rpm's. If you mostly take 1 or 2 people I would drop it by 2 inches.

11.1 X 14 is the Number on side of prop what size do you think I need ?11.1x 12?

That's what I would be trying next. On a similar test should give you around 5800 1 POB and 5400 4 POB. If you regularly run 4 POB or even 3 POB plus gear I would think about going down an extra inch, but if you are normally only 1 or 2 POB then the 12" should be good.

We have a similar sized boat and F60 and the 'correct' prop for us is a 12", but the boat is much quieter and seems less fussed with a 13". The 13" also gives us another two or three knots at cruising revs (we cruise at a pretty high 4,800). 
 
Horses for courses I guess. We have both props and change them depending on the expected load or weather. Our 12 is four blade SS but the 13 is OEM Yamaha three blade alloy.
 
You get a great deal more trim range out of the four blade before it starts sucking air

I may be wrong but I thought the first number on the prop indicates diameter the second is pitch. If that is right you are running an 11' prop.
Just went out side and looked at mine the numbers are 13.75x15.
 
Dont know the wide open throttle rpm as I dont think I have ever been there but mine was set up at Frewza before been sent up here and I am very happy with performance.

CBF - are you running an F60 as well? I didn't know that Yamaha recommend a 13.75 diameter prop for the F60?

Check your engine height before spending the money and buying a new prop. Trim the motor level and use a straight edge along the bottom of the boat. The anti ventilation (cavitation plate ) should be 1/2 to 3/4 inch ABOVE the bottom of the hull.

Yup checked height and about an inch above bottom of boat so all good - Just spoke to engine fitter, as he couldnt load test with weight he is going to get prop repitched for another 500 rpms -
He also said it would free up another 200 - 300 rpms once it loosens up a bit
 
Cbf-bop I will get in touch re cover but price has blown out .......I will get him to keep the pattern it may save you $$$

Hi all
Sorry no, didn,t make myself clear, exact same hull but i am running a 60hp merc big foot. Got it as a package off Frewza.
 
My quote locally for a cover was $690 gst incl.

Ok he is the guy who did a soft top for the rayglass was happy with that job. He may be making the frewza one buy next week if the house sale goes thru or in the new year if not will keep you posted.
