At last I can start this topic !!!

solid Condor Craft Skipjack 132 with transom already raised
4 year old DMW trailer which was custom built for the boat
purchased off a friend for a good deal as he needed something bigger for the family

plans for the future
strip down insides, glass in a few modifications & paint
build an anchor box into the top of the foredeck
split the bowrail in the centre and bend down to mount on the deck to create a big V
install carpet inside (infront of seat only)
repaint topsides (unsure of colour ... options cherry red or metallic purple or monster energy green)
repair gel coat along bottom (a few chips from beach launching)

and then one day buy a brand new 30hp (will be slightly underpowered but only going for use in around the bottom end of waiheke and the odd coromandel road trip)

will attempt to keep this updated with progress / photos as I go

sanding starts tonight

i always thought condor crafts had lower freeboard. They are a gullwing hull arent they?

When I did my own project years ago, those one piece disposable overalls were fantastsic - the kind with the hood.  Goggles for the eyes, and a good industrial barrier cream for exposed skin.

Just be prepared to sweat ...

have been busy catching the odd marlin so no real progress
Bit more internal grinding / sanding completed
stripped off canopy and rodholders etc
about to start marking out the anchor box size (make sure I miss the stringers :S)
brought a few bits an pieces (gaff/net) so I can mark out where it is all going down the sides and get the brackets sorted for them prior to glassing a few repairs etc
have taken the name off the side - and have the new name done from a graphics designer :D

mates boat has it in that position, easier when one on board.
stand at wheel and pull anchor up from side of boat. easy access to motor controls if need be
I will be changing the bow rail and split it in 2 so easy to flick rope over the nose ... then no reason to stand on bow

I may have forgotten to mention that I have access to a laser cutter

dummy cuts on custom board to make sure everything fits

rubber band keeps it all from jumping out, might more it up but another inch or so


final pieces cut out of decent ply and a bit of sanding sealer added


going to start getting a few things ready to glass in all at once
will put the net on the other side of the boat but a bit more forward so doesn't get in the way of rod storage
