The game-fishing season is just around the corner so time to start polishing the gear and getting the boat in top condition. This thread is for posts on what's happening in your local area.

Good luck and tight lines to all for the upcoming season Thumbs Up

Keep an eye out for the new catch record thread which will be a great way to see at a glance what everyone has been catching Wink

Went for a little tiki tour yesterday out to the 100 mt mark of Taiharuru
Bait everywhere and up to 17.8deg green but very clear water
lots of gannets working balls of bait sitting in about 5-10 mts with the odd big ball mid water
We pulled a couple of tuna and marlin lures but nothing seen
Wont be long tho.

Good on ya Paul for going for a look, I wonder if there was any Slender Tuna amongst those bait balls.

Anyway we are going for a look on Saturday hopefully to the ruru/mumu area, anyone else heading out for a scout and reci?Thumbs Up

Really sorry Stevo and in truth, but Grunta and/or Mrs Wahoo shut me down so I suggest to take it up with them as I did ask Grunta to keep a 2.5 year and over 100K views thread going, but they consider it an Area Report to be archived, and not a "News As It Happens" topic which I created and intended it to be of course, but they own and rule Fnet, thus I have to stand down.Cry

No cos Moggy will put it on FacebookLOL

It is still there but buried amongst the archives Mark, they just will not allow it to be placed amongst the mainstream threads in the workup area.

Hi Team,

I think its important to keep the channel 4 reports going, hundreds of us use it to keep informed on the fishing and the local forecasts and sea conditions etc etc......

So to remedy the problem I have started a facebook page called Tutukaka channel 4 reports and asked catchalot to report on here instead.

To get the reports all you need to do is "like" the page, if you want to report or comment yourself I can make you an administrator of the page and you guys and do what you want.

here is the link:http://www.facebook.com/#!/TutukakaChannel4Reports

Its a fast, cheap and easy way to share the info with out causing trouble on here

I think this is a great idea of Jimmy Canyon that way we can get the reports off this website and so important and elite people on here don't get their feathers ruffled and bikinis in a twist.

Damn just means I have to join that stupid FB site that Moggy so loves.LOL

Good stuff guys...it is a great tool for reporting....there is already a very well 'liked' Hauraki Gulf Facebook page....i get a message to my phone when it gets a new update and can also upload photos and video from iphone/android etc....nice features for 'live' reporting.
